  • October 9th, 2014 – GlobalMeet 3.6 Update 

Your GlobalMeet web conferencing service will be upgraded on November 14, 2014, to version 3.6

In this release you’ll see the following key enhancements:

      • Better Audio/Visual Management:  Connect more quickly to your most commonly used audio and visual devices faster. GlobalMeet remembers the last microphone and webcam used and eliminates the need to search for your preferred options.
      • NEW File Share Report: Track when and who you have shared files with by accessing the ‘File Share’ report. This report includes details on your contacts that have been sent a file or downloaded a file during a meeting from your File Library.
      • Easier Access to Recordings & Reports: Easily access all of your meeting recordings and reports from your GlobalMeet File Library. When recordings and reports are available for your meeting GlobalMeet will put them in a Recordings or Reports folder to keep things tidy.
      • Enhanced Meeting Performance: Continuous performance improvements result in faster meeting entry and a more real-time meeting experience.

Desktop Application

      • Expanded Language Support: The GlobalMeet for Windows Desktop application is now available in French, German and Dutch.
      • Seamless Meeting Scheduling for Mac Users: GlobalMeet accesses your Mac Address Book and enables you to quickly invite your contacts.
      • Improved Softphone Audio Management (applies to audio-only accounts): Optimize your audio experience by determining if your softphone (VoIP) connection is ideal. A connection strength meter is displayed along with a new feature that enables you to change to a PSTN (landline) connection during the meeting.

Outlook Toolbar Application 

      • 64-bit Support: GlobalMeet now supports the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office Outlook.

From 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM (EST) on November 15th GlobalMeet may be intermittently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. As always, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us.

  • October 9th, 2014 –  GlobalMeet powered by SoundConnect Admin Portal (Hub) Notice

Start/Schedule Meeting Feature in the Admin Portal (Hub) – Currently GlobalMeet® users are able to start/schedule meetings through the Administration Portal (Hub). This feature will be removed in Q1 2015 and transitioned to the GlobalMeet desktop and Outlook Toolbar applications.

You will find that these applications for Windows and Mac are faster and more convenient options for starting/scheduling meetings.

On October 31, 2014 the Admin portal will be updated to release 6.7 to add a pop-up message that displays a notification when users click the ‘Start’ or ‘Schedule’ meeting links. The message explains that these features will be removed during Q1 2015 and that alternate tools are available.

  • September 25th, 2014 – VIDYO UPGRADE:  Scheduled Maintenance.  

Please be advised your Collaboration Service Provider will be performing maintenance on its audio conference platforms on Saturday, October 4th between the hours of 01:00am and 04:00am EDT and between 08:00pm and 01:00am on Sunday, October 4th.  During these maintenance windows, the audio conference service may be unavailable for up to 70 minutes.

  • September 24th, 2014 MAJOR UPGRADE:  VIDYO COLLABORATION SERVICE MAINTENANCE NOTICE

Please be advised SoundConnect will be performing an upgrade on the Vidyo desktop service on Saturday, October 4th between the hours of 11:00am EDT and 11:59pm EDT

During this maintenance, the Vidyo desktop service may be unavailable for up to 120 minutes.  Upon the first login after this maintenance window, users will be prompted to install and upgrade their Vidyo desktop client to Version 3.0

New Vidyo Desktop interface:

- New intuitive interface with a light and clean design

- Invite one or more participants instantly from your contact list

- Easier and faster “click to join” for both guests and registered users

- In-conference chat, with public and private modes

        • Improved Screen Share Control:Control what your guests can see by pausing Screen Share while you perform actions on your desktop in private.
        • Improved File Sharing: Quickly share files that are stored in your file library by sending links.
            • Audio and Video Device Management: Easily connect to your preferred microphone and webcam. The application detects all of your installed devices and allows you to select the options that are best for you.
            • User Interface Design ImprovementsNew chat panel makes it easier to chat with meeting participants.
            • Automatic Screen Share Bandwidth Management: To improve Screen Share quality and performance the application detects the bandwidth of the host or presenter that is screen sharing and automatically adjusts to accommodate high/low bandwidth environments.
            • Citrix VDI Support: Citrix XenDesktop version 5.6 is now supported.
